University of Notre Dame Faculty Position in Structural Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at the University of Notre Dame (http://ceees.nd.edu/) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or tenured position in structural engineering to complement the existing faculty. Qualified candidates at all levels (assistant, associate, or full professor) will be considered, with hiring rank and tenure status commensurate with academic accomplishments. The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field and must demonstrate potential for high quality research and teaching. The existing faculty has significant strength in natural hazard risk mitigation and sustainable civil infrastructure. In accordance with these strength areas, the department is seeking an outstanding faculty member with a research focus on, but not limited to: infrastructure systems, high-performance and sustainable civil structures, reliability and performance of structures under extreme loading, innovative structural systems, computational mechanics, and foundation-structure interaction. Candidates for the position should be qualified to teach civil engineering courses, with a strong commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful faculty candidate is expected to develop and sustain an externally funded research program and publish in leading scholarly journals.
