More than 1,200 earthquake professionals representing 26 disciplines, 37 countries around the world, and 47 states convened in Los Angeles June 25-29, 2018 for the 11NCEE, co-organized by EERI and the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC).
Over 800 papers were formally accepted and showcased across 135 Technical Sessions, along with invited plenary, theme, and Special Session speakers. Additionally, 350 undergraduate students competed on 40 teams representing 8 countries around the world, 16 U.S. States, and Puerto Rico. More than 125 expert volunteers from earthquake engineering and risk reduction actively served as topic chairs and reviewers; over 100 volunteered to moderate technical sessions; and approximately 50 volunteered to be Seismic Design Competition judges.
