This webinar, hosted by the Alaska EERI regional chapter, covered the history of seismicity and resilience planning for the state, reviewed tools and guidance that the EERI Public Policy and Advocacy Committee has recently developed for Citizen and Regional Chapter Advocacy, and discussed actions the membership can take today for a seismically safer Alaska. Speakers included Jessica Feenstra, President of the Alaska EERI chapter; Zahraa Saiyed, Co-Chair of the EERI Public Policy and Advocacy Committee; Sterling Strait, Chair of the Alaska Seismic Hazards Safety Commission; and Mike West, Alaska State Seismologist.
